Thinkbond 911HS is a one-coat thermoreactive primer designed for bonding elastomers including NBR, ACM, and solid PU with various substrates through vulcanization. Compatible substrates include steel, carbon steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, aluminum, copper alloy, aramid, textile fibers (cotton, cellulose, polyamide, polyester, aramid), and glass. Also effective in two-coat systems with an adhesive for bonding NR, SBR, BR, CR, NBR, HNBR, IIR, CIIR, BIIR, CSM, and EPDM.

• Appearance: Grey liquid
• Non-volatile solids (1h @ 105°C): 22.00-26.00%
• Density at 25°C: 0.92-0.96 g/cm3
• Viscosity Brookfield at 25°C: 150 cps
• Diluents: MEK/MIBK
• Bonding Temperature Range: 135 to 200ºC
• Shelf life: 1 year (closed can below 25ºC)

Polymers and fillers stabilized in aromatic and ketone solvents.

Thoroughly clean metal surfaces to remove oil, grease, and dirt. Grit blast surfaces with steel to achieve >15 µm roughness (use aluminum oxide for aluminum surfaces). Remove all blasting residue dust. Compatible with chemically treated surfaces including galvanized, phosphated, and KTL coatings.

• Agitation: Stir before application to prevent sedimentation
• Dilution: Use MEK or MIBK at recommended ratios:
  • Dipping: 50-100% v/v
  • Brushing: 20-50% v/v
  • Spray: 50-100% v/v
• Drying Time: 15-30 minutes at room temperature (2 minutes at ≤65ºC with forced air)
• Note: Avoid temperatures above 82ºC to prevent pre-cure before vulcanization

Keep containers tightly closed and away from heat sources. Storage below 10ºC extends shelf life.
