Calcium Salt stain (Silver Nitrate Method) Baso Clear Colourful Stains

 

Testing Principle

It is a metal replacement method. When silver nitrate solution acting on the insoluble calcium salts of histological section, calcium salt is converted to silver. Silver salt will be reduced to the black metallic silver because of the effect of light (such as sunlight or ultraviolet light).

Stain Results

Calcium salt appears brown black to deep black.
