The buttons are unresponsive. Is it a hardware or software issue?

Most often, this is a hardware failure caused by wear or fluid ingress. However, first try a "Hard Reset" by cycling the rear power switch. If the CCU responds to a USB keyboard but not the front panel, the membrane keypad likely needs replacement.
