The GYTC8S is a high-performance self-supporting fiber optic cable designed for outdoor environments. Its aerial installation capability is enhanced by superior moisture protection and crush resistance. For underground or duct installations, it features a polyethylene-coated, figure-eight-shaped metallic strength member. The cable's durability comes from a corrugated steel tape and polyethylene outer sheath, providing crush and bullet resistance. A steel-wire strength member at the core increases tensile strength, supported by a loose tube structure and water-blocking mechanism.
The Figure 8 non-armoured fiber cable construction includes: a stranded loose tube for fiber protection, steel wire core for tensile strength, core filler compound for shape retention, structural fillers, and corrosion-resistant steel wire treated with phosphating or galvanization.
