Product Description
Designed for outdoor applications, the GYTC8S is a self-reliant fiber optic cable that excels in aerial settings. It boasts superior moisture and crush resistance, which also makes it suitable for underground or duct installations.
The cable features a figure-eight shaped metallic strength member, which is a strand of wires coated with polyethylene. Armored with a corrugated steel tape and a polyethylene sheath, the cable is equipped with crush and bullet resistance. The central steel-wire member functions as the main source of tensile strength, with a loose tube and a water-blocking system providing additional support.
The components of a Figure 8 non-armoured fiber cable include a stranded loose tube that encases the fiber, a steel wire strength member at the core for increased durability, a core filler compound to maintain the cable's circular shape, fillers to provide structural support, and a corrosion-resistant phosphating or galvanized steel wire.
