ADSS (All-Dielectric Self-Supporting) fiber optic cable is constructed with non-metallic materials for aerial installation alongside power transmission lines. The tension-resistant aramid yarn provides high elasticity, enabling the cable to withstand significant installation tension (max span: 1500m), ice loads (max thickness: ≥20mm), and wind pressure (max speed: 35m/s).
- Installation possible without power interruption
- Excellent anti-tracking performance (up to 25KV at operating point)
- Lightweight design reduces ice/wind loading on support structures
- Supports large span lengths exceeding 1000m
- Superior tensile strength and temperature performance
- 30+ year design lifespan
The cable features loose tube stranding with fibers positioned in high-modulus plastic tubes filled with water-resistant compound. These tubes are stranded around a FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic) central strength member. The cable core is protected by a PE inner sheath and reinforced with dual-layer aramid yarn before receiving its final PE or AT (anti-tracking) outer sheath.
ADSS cables are designed considering overhead power line conditions. PE outer sheath is used for lines under 110kV, while AT sheath is applied for 110kV and above installations. The aramid quantity and stranding process are customized for various environmental demands.
