Due to the particularity of the woodworking industry, central dust collection systems generally need to be equipped with explosion-proof safety configurations: standard anti-static devices, spark detectors, flameproof valves, and explosion relief plates. In view of the flammable and explosive characteristics of wood dust, the risk of fire and explosion is eliminated from the source. A level gauge is installed in the ash hopper to prevent excessive dust accumulation from causing blockage.
Working Principle of Woodworking Dust Collector
  • Negative Pressure Dust Collection: After the fan starts, the entire pipeline system forms a negative pressure environment. The wood chips and dust from the dust-generating points at each workstation are sucked into the branch pipeline through the dust collection hood under the action of negative pressure gravity and then collected in the main pipeline.
  • Pre-filtration: The dust airflow enters the ash hopper of the main unit. Large wood chips settle to the bottom of the ash hopper due to gravity, completing the initial separation.
  • Fine Filtration: The airflow containing fine dust passes upward through the filter cylinder/bag, where the dust is retained and adheres to the surface of the filter material. Clean air then passes through the filter material and enters the clean air chamber.
  • Pulse Cleaning: When the dust on the surface of the filter material accumulates to a certain thickness and the pressure difference reaches the set value, the pulse valve opens, and the high-pressure gas flow blows in the opposite direction towards the filter material, causing the dust to fall off into the ash hopper.
  • Dust Discharge: The dust in the ash hopper is discharged at regular intervals through the ash discharge valve and collected in the dust collection box. The purified air is pressurized by the fan and then discharged up to standard or reused as return air.
