Working principle
Compressed gas is filled into a sealed air spring, with the gas pressure typically ranging from 0.2 to 0.7 MPa. The compressibility of the gas is utilized to achieve the spring effect. The air pressure inside the airbag is controlled by a height adjustment valve. When the load acting on the spring increases, the air pressure rises and the spring stiffness increases; conversely, when the load decreases, the air pressure inside the spring drops and the stiffness decreases.
Structural Composition
The airbag of an automotive shock absorber is mainly composed of rubber airbags, upper covers, pressure plates, pistons, stops, retaining rings and other components. The rubber airbags are typically made up of an inner rubber layer (air-tight layer), outer rubber layer, fabric reinforcing layer and steel wire ring. The fabric cords usually adopt high-strength polyester or nylon cords, and the number of layers is mostly 2 or 4.
