Description:

201 stainless steel plate is a low nickel high manganese austenitic stainless steel, belonging to the Fe Cr Ni alloy series, and is the main representative grade of austenitic stainless steel.

Performance characteristics:

- Mechanical properties: It has high tensile strength and yield strength, with a specified non proportional elongation strength Rp0.2 ≥ 275N/mm ², tensile strength Rm ≥ 520N/mm ², elongation at break A ≥ 40%, and hardness not greater than HBW241 HRB100,HV253.
- Physical properties: Density of 7.93kg/dm ³, melting point of 1398-1453 ℃, specific heat capacity of 0.50kJ/(kg · K), thermal conductivity of 16.3W/(m · K), coefficient of linear expansion of 15.7 × 10-6/K, and resistivity of 0.69 Ω· mm ²/m.
- Chemical properties: To a certain extent, it is resistant to acid and alkali, but its resistance to pitting corrosion is poor. The pitting potential in a 3.5% sodium chloride solution is -32mV.
 

Application Area:

- Decoration field: Used for building decoration of doors, windows, handrails, railings, etc., and can also be used to make sculptures, screens, and other decorative items.
- Household items: can be made into kitchen utensils such as cookware, tableware, as well as faucets, showerheads, etc. in bathroom products.
- In the industrial field, it is used to manufacture industrial pipelines and containers that do not require high corrosion resistance, as well as food machinery, computer accessories, containers, etc.
- Advantages and disadvantages
- Advantages: Relatively low price, good toughness, plasticity, wear resistance, good formability and manufacturability.
- Disadvantages: Corrosion resistance, especially pitting resistance, is much lower than that of 304 stainless steel, and it is prone to rusting in highly corrosive environments such as coastal areas.
