Maintenance

Front wheel bearings directly impact steering safety and tire longevity; therefore, it is recommended that they undergo comprehensive maintenance every 30,000 to 50,000 kilometers.

• Grease Inspection and Replacement: Clean out the old grease and inspect it for signs of discoloration (blackening), dilution, or the presence of metal shavings. It is imperative to use a high-temperature, extreme-pressure lithium-based grease (such as Grade 2 or Grade 3).
• Bearing Clearance Adjustment: This constitutes the core of the maintenance procedure. After installation, rotate the wheel hub while tightening the locknut; subsequently, back off the nut by a specific angle (typically 1/8 to 1/12 of a turn) to ensure the hub rotates freely without any perceptible wobble.
• Temperature Monitoring: During driving breaks, ually check the temperature of the wheel hub cap. If it feels excessively hot (exceeding 70°C), this typically indicates that the bearing clearance is too tight or that there is a lack of lubrication.
• Oil Seal Condition: The wheel hub oil seal must be inspected every time the assembly is disassembled. If there are any signs of grease leakage, the seal must be replaced immediately; otherwise, escaping grease will contaminate the brake shoes, potentially leading to brake failure.
