Fluorine Rubber Characteristics

Advantages

1. Excellent high temperature resistance: FKM can withstand high temperature environment in high temperature environment, can continue to maintain good elasticity and mechanical properties, to ensure the reliability of the seal.
2. Excellent chemical resistance: FKM can effectively prevent the leakage of chemical media to ensure production safety.
3. Good aging resistance: FKM is not easy to occur aging phenomenon. This reduces seal failure and replacement frequency due to aging and extends the service life of the equipment.
4. Highly resistant to abrasion: under the same working conditions, its abrasion is much lower than that of ordinary rubber, which can provide more durable sealing support for the equipment.

Disadvantages

1. Poor cold resistance: generally between -20℃ and -40℃, it will gradually harden and become brittle under low temperature environment, losing elasticity and sealing performance. This limits its application in cold regions or under low-temperature working conditions.
2. Relatively high price: due to the complexity of the synthesis process of FKM fluoroelastomer, the high cost of raw materials, making its price compared to ordinary rubber, such as natural rubber, nitrile rubber and so on is much higher.
