Our seamless pipe manufacturing begins with solid steel rounds or billets cut to specified lengths and heated to approximately 2,300°F in walking-beam reheat furnaces. The preheated rounds are transformed into tube shells through high-speed cross-rolling in rotary piercing mills, then processed through mandrel mills to achieve precise outer diameter and wall thickness specifications.
Advanced hot-wall measuring systems continuously monitor the process to ensure dimensional accuracy. Final forming occurs in 24-stand stretch-reducing mills, where outside diameters are formed to exact customer requirements. After cooling on walking-beam cooling beds, pipes are batch cut and transferred via computer-controlled gantry cranes.
Our plug mill facilities incorporate Amalog-Sonoscope electromagnetic inspection units that detect defects using flux leakage by electromagnetic induction in search coils. Amalog magnetic circuits identify longitudinal defects on both inner and outer surfaces, while Sonoscope circuits detect circumferential imperfections.
