High Strength Ductility Chemical Industry Inconel Co-Cr-Ni Alloy Elgiloy Alloy Wire Inconel Mesh
Cobalt-Chromium-Nickel alloy also known as Elgiloy(Phynox) gives a combination of high strength, ductility and good mechanical properties and is age hardenable. Phynox also has excellent fatigue life, corrosion resistance in numerous environments and is non-magnetic. This alloy is recommended where a high resistance to corrosion or low relaxation at temperatures up to 380°C are required.

Specific Applications
- Chemical reactors: used to manufacture various high temperature and corrosion resistant equipment and pipelines.
- Catalyst support: excellent performance in handling strong acids, alkalis and other corrosive media, extending the service life of the equipment and reducing the frequency of maintenance and replacement.
- Heat exchanger: Inconel 718's corrosion resistance enables it to effectively resist corrosion in chemical equipment, ensuring the long-term stable operation of the equipment.
Advantages and Characteristics
- Conductivity and resistivity: The conductivity of Inconel 718 is about 6.9 × 10^6 S/m, and the resistivity is about 1.45 μΩ·m. This shows that its conductivity is relatively low, but its resistivity is high, which makes it suitable for manufacturing high-resistance components.
- High-temperature electrical properties: Under high temperature conditions, the conductivity of Inconel 718 increases with increasing temperature, while the resistivity decreases accordingly. For example, at 600°C, the conductivity rises to 7.5 × 10^6 S/m; at 850°C, the conductivity further rises to 8.2 × 10^6 S/m.
- High strength and high toughness: The tensile strength of Inconel 718 at room temperature is about 1400 MPa, the yield strength is about 1150 MPa, and the elongation is about 25%. At 700°C, its tensile strength can still be maintained above 600 MPa, and the yield strength is about 350 MPa.
- Corrosion resistance: Inconel 718 performs well in a variety of corrosive environments, including oxidizing, reducing and salt spray environments. Its corrosion resistance is particularly outstanding in corrosive environments containing chloride ions.
