Manual starters are simple, user-operated devices that control equipment through a button or rotary knob. When the engine is activated (via stop/start button or traditional key), an electrical signal is sent to the starter solenoid. This component transfers power from the battery to the starter motor, which engages the starter drive (Bendix gear system) and subsequently the vehicle's flywheel.
The starter motor cranks the engine to initiate combustion in petrol and diesel vehicles. Once the engine is running independently, the mechanism disengages the starter motor from the gear and flywheel.
