Starter Motor Operation
When the engine is activated (via stop/start button or key), an electrical signal is sent to the starter solenoid. This component transfers charge from the battery to the starter motor, activating it and engaging the starter drive (Bendix) with the vehicle's flywheel.
The starter motor cranks the engine to initiate combustion in petrol and diesel vehicles. Once the engine runs independently, the mechanism disengages the starter motor from the flywheel as external electrical assistance is no longer required.
