When the engine is activated (via button or key), an electrical signal is sent to the starter solenoid. This component transfers power from the battery to the starter motor, engaging the starter drive mechanism (Bendix gear) with the engine's flywheel.
The starter motor cranks the engine to initiate combustion in both petrol and diesel vehicles. Once the engine is running independently, the starter mechanism automatically disengages from the flywheel.
