When activated (via button or key), the starter system sends an electrical signal to the starter solenoid. This component channels battery power to the starter motor, engaging both the motor and the starter drive (Bendix gear). The rotating starter motor cranks the engine's flywheel, initiating combustion in petrol and diesel engines. Once operational, the system disengages the starter from the flywheel.
