Manual starters are devices operated manually, designed for simple operation without requiring expert intervention. These starters feature a button or rotary knob that enables users to turn connected equipment on or off through mechanical linkages that open or close contacts.
- Provides safe and economical operation
- Compact size suitable for diverse applications
- Includes overload protection for motor safety
- Available with various enclosure options
- Low initial cost solution
Note: Manual starters don't break control circuits during power loss, which may cause automatic motor restart when power returns - an important safety consideration for certain applications.
When the engine is activated (via stop/start button or traditional key), an electrical signal is sent to the starter solenoid. This component transfers charge from the vehicle's battery to the starter motor, activating it along with the starter drive (Bendix gear system).
The starter motor turns the engine's flywheel, initiating combustion in petrol and diesel engines. Once the engine runs independently, the mechanism disengages the starter motor from the flywheel as the electrical spark is no longer required.
