Starter Motor Operation
When the engine is activated (via stop/start button or traditional key), an electrical signal is sent to the starter solenoid. This component transfers charge from the battery to the starter motor, activating both the motor and the starter drive (Bendix gear system).
The starter motor turns the engine's flywheel to initiate combustion in petrol and diesel engines. Once the engine is running, the mechanism disengages the starter motor from the flywheel as the engine no longer requires electrical assistance.
