Starter Motor Operation
When activated (via stop/start button or ignition key), an electrical signal is sent to the starter solenoid, which transfers power from the battery to the starter motor. This activates the starter drive (Bendix gear system) which engages the engine's flywheel to crank the engine and initiate combustion.
Once the engine is running, the mechanism disengages the starter motor from the flywheel as the engine becomes self-sustaining.
