Manual starters are simple, manually-operated devices for starting equipment. When the engine is activated (via start button or key), an electrical signal is sent to the starter solenoid. This component transfers power from the battery to the starter motor, activating both the motor and the starter drive (Bendix gear system). The starter motor then engages the flywheel, cranking the engine to begin combustion. Once the engine is running, the starter automatically disengages from the flywheel.
