How Starter Motors Work
When the engine is activated (via start button or key), an electrical signal is sent to the starter solenoid. The engaged starter motor turns the engine's flywheel, initiating combustion in petrol and diesel engines.
Once the engine runs independently, the starter motor disengages from the flywheel as the engine no longer requires the initial electrical spark.
