Manual starters are simple, user-operated devices that control motor operation through a button or rotary knob. These starters use mechanical linkages to open or close contacts, starting or stopping the motor. Unlike automatic starters, manual versions don't break the control circuit during power loss, which means motors may restart automatically when power returns - an important safety consideration for certain applications.
- Safe and economical operation
- Compact design suitable for diverse applications
- Built-in overload protection for motor safety
- Available with various enclosure options
- Cost-effective initial investment
When the engine is activated (via stop/start button or ignition key), an electrical signal is sent to the starter solenoid. This component channels power from the vehicle's battery to the starter motor. The electrical current activates both the starter motor and the starter drive (Bendix gear system), which then engages the engine's flywheel.
As the starter motor turns, it cranks the engine to initiate the combustion process in both petrol and diesel vehicles. Once the engine is running independently, the mechanism disengages the starter motor from the flywheel, as the engine no longer requires the electrical spark to maintain operation.
