Starter Motor Operation
When the engine is activated (via stop/start button or traditional key), an electrical signal is sent to the starter solenoid, which transmits power from the battery to the starter motor.
The electrical current activates both the starter motor and the starter drive (Bendix gear system), engaging the vehicle's flywheel. As the starter motor turns, it cranks the engine to initiate the combustion process.
Once the engine is running, the mechanism disconnects the starter motor from the gear and flywheel as external electrical assistance is no longer required.
