Starter Motor Operation
When the engine is activated (via stop/start button or traditional key), an electrical signal is sent to the starter solenoid. This component transfers power from the vehicle's battery to the starter motor, which engages the starter drive (Bendix gear system) and turns the engine's flywheel.
The starter motor cranks the engine to initiate the combustion process. Once the engine is running independently, the mechanism disengages the starter motor from the flywheel as the engine no longer requires the electrical spark to maintain operation.
