Manual Starters Overview
Manual starters are simple, user-operated devices that control equipment activation. Starter Motor Operation
When the engine is activated (via stop/start button or traditional key), an electrical signal is sent to the starter solenoid. This component transfers power from the vehicle's battery to the starter motor, which activates the starter drive (Bendix gear system). The starter motor then engages the vehicle's flywheel, cranking the engine to initiate combustion in both petrol and diesel vehicles.
Once the engine is running independently, the starter motor disengages from the flywheel as the engine no longer requires the initial electrical spark to maintain operation.
