When the engine is activated (via stop/start button or traditional key), an electrical signal is sent to the starter solenoid. This component transfers power from the vehicle's battery to the starter motor, which then engages the flywheel through a gear system (starter drive or Bendix). The motor turns, cranking the engine to initiate combustion. Once the engine is running, the starter motor automatically disengages from the flywheel.
