Manual starters are devices operated manually, designed for simple operation without requiring expert intervention. The starter includes a button or rotary knob that enables users to turn connected equipment on or off through mechanical linkages that open or close contacts.
Important Safety Note:
This type of starter does not break a control circuit during power loss, meaning the motor could restart automatically when voltage is restored - a critical safety consideration in some applications.
- Safe and economical operation
- Compact size suitable for diverse applications
- Overload protection for motor safety
- Available with various enclosure options
- Low initial cost
When the engine is activated (via stop/start button or traditional key), an electrical signal is sent to the starter solenoid. This component transmits power from the vehicle's battery to the starter motor, activating the starter drive (Bendix gear system) which engages the flywheel.
As the starter motor turns, it cranks the engine to initiate the combustion process. Once the engine is running, the mechanism disengages the starter motor from the gear and flywheel as the engine no longer requires the electrical spark.
