Manual starters are simple, user-friendly devices that enable manual operation of connected equipment. Featuring either a button or rotary knob, these starters use mechanical linkages to open or close contacts, controlling motor operation.

When the engine is activated (via stop/start button or ignition key), an electrical signal is sent to the starter solenoid. This component channels power from the vehicle's battery to the starter motor.

The electrical current activates both the starter motor and the Bendix gear system, which engages the vehicle's flywheel. As the starter motor rotates, it cranks the engine to initiate the combustion process in petrol and diesel engines.

Once the engine is running independently, the mechanism disengages the starter motor from the flywheel, as the engine no longer requires the electrical spark to maintain operation.
