Starter Motor Operation
When the engine is activated (via stop/start button or traditional key), an electrical signal is sent to the starter solenoid. This component transfers power from the vehicle's battery to the starter motor, which then engages the starter drive (Bendix gear system) with the vehicle's flywheel. The starter motor cranks the engine to initiate combustion in petrol and diesel vehicles. Once the engine is running independently, the starter motor disengages from the flywheel as the electrical spark is no longer required.
