Manual starters are manually operated devices designed for simple operation without requiring expert intervention. These starters feature a button or rotary knob that allows users to turn connected equipment on or off through mechanical linkages that open or close contacts to control the motor.
Important Note: Manual starters do not break control circuits during power loss, which means motors may restart automatically when power is restored. This requires careful consideration for safety in certain applications.
- Safe and economical operation
- Compact design suitable for diverse applications
- Built-in overload protection for motor safety
- Available with various enclosure options
- Cost-effective initial investment
When the engine is activated (via stop/start button or traditional key), an electrical signal is sent to the starter solenoid. This component transfers power from the vehicle's battery to the starter motor, which activates the starter drive (Bendix gear system) to engage the flywheel.
The starter motor cranks the engine to initiate combustion in petrol and diesel vehicles. Once the engine is running, the mechanism disengages the starter motor from the flywheel as the engine no longer requires the electrical spark to maintain operation.
