Manual starters are simple, manually-operated devices for controlling equipment. Featuring either a button or rotary knob, they enable users to start or stop connected motors through mechanical linkages that open or close contacts.

Note: Manual starters don't break control circuits during power loss, which may cause automatic motor restart when power returns - an important safety consideration for certain applications.

When the engine is activated (via start button or key), an electrical signal is sent to the starter solenoid. This component transfers power from the battery to the starter motor, which engages the flywheel through a gear system (starter drive/Bendix). The motor cranks the engine to initiate combustion. Once the engine runs independently, the starter disengages automatically.
