Manual starters are devices that are operated manually. These starters are extremely easy and straightforward to operate and do not require expert intervention.

1. Driver activates engine (via stop/start button or key)
2. Electrical signal sent to starter solenoid
3. Solenoid sends charge from battery to starter motor
4. Starter motor activates gear system (starter drive/Bendix)
5. Gear engages vehicle's flywheel
6. Starter motor cranks engine, initiating combustion
7. Once engine is running, starter disengages automatically
