Starter Motor Operation
When the engine is activated (via start button or key), an electrical signal is sent to the starter solenoid, which transfers charge from the battery to the starter motor. This activates the starter motor and engages the starter drive (Bendix gear system) with the vehicle's flywheel.
As the starter motor turns, it cranks the engine to initiate combustion. Once the engine is running, the connection between starter motor and flywheel disengages as the engine no longer requires the electrical spark.
