Refrigerant Oil Return Guidelines
- Ensure refrigerant flow rate in suction pipe (approximately 6m/s) to facilitate oil return to compressor. Maximum flow rate should be less than 15m/s to minimize pressure drop and flow noise.
- For horizontal pipes, maintain downward slope along refrigerant flow direction (approximately 0.8cm/m).
- Prevent refrigerant oil from accumulating in the evaporator.
- Ensure proper oil return hole sizing in gas-liquid separator - too small causes wet compression, too large prevents adequate oil return.
- Eliminate any system components that could cause oil stagnation.
Important: Under conditions of high drop in long piping systems, ensure sufficient refrigerant oil in compressor, typically verified using compressor with oil level mirror.
