The cone calorimeter operates on the oxygen consumption principle, where each kilogram of oxygen consumed corresponds to approximately 13.1 megajoules of heat released. The system monitors multiple parameters including real-time heat release rate, ignition time, oxygen concentration, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide production rates, smoke generation, and exhaust flow characteristics.
LabVIEW-based control system provides intuitive operation with PID temperature control, intelligent air volume adjustment, and comprehensive data storage. The system automatically records test parameters, temperature curves, and sample data for future reference and analysis.
