The magnetic particle lifting force test block is used to verify the lifting force of portable magnetic particle flaw detectors.
The fundamental purpose of lifting force testing is to verify the effective magnetic flux induced by the magnetic yoke into the workpiece, so as to evaluate the performance of the magnetic yoke.
Lifting force refers to the attractive force exerted by the magnetic yoke of a portable magnetic particle flaw detector on ferromagnetic materials at the maximum pole spacing.
The lifting force of a magnetic yoke depends on the cross-sectional area of the yoke core, the magnetic properties of the core material, and the magnitude of the excitation parameters. The lifting force of the magnetic yoke reflects the attractive force corresponding to the yoke when its peak magnetic induction intensity B reaches a specified level.
At the maximum yoke pole spacing:
- The lifting force of an AC electromagnetic yoke shall be at least 45 N;
- The lifting force of a DC electromagnetic yoke shall be at least 177 N;
- The lifting force of a cross-type magnetic yoke shall be at least 118 N (with a 0.5 mm gap between the magnetic pole and the workpiece surface).
