Product Overview
This non-aqueous environment pH electrode utilizes potentiometric analysis based on the Nernst equation principle. The sensor functions as a galvanic cell that converts chemical reaction energy into electrical energy, measuring electromotive force (EMF) through two half-cells: a measuring sensor and reference sensor.
The electrode features a dual salt bridge system and porous ceramic liquid junction, specifically designed for accurate pH measurement in organic solvents and non-aqueous environments.
Installation Methods
- Sidewall Installation: Ensure interface tilt angle exceeds 15 degrees
- Top Flange Installation: Note flange dimensions and electrode insertion depth
- Pipe Installation: Consider pipe diameter, flow velocity, and pressure requirements
- Flow-Through Installation: Monitor flow velocity and pressure conditions
- Submersion Installation: Adjust bracket length according to application needs
Maintenance & Care Guidelines
- Before use, unscrew protective cap and immerse electrode bulb and liquid junction in sample
- Rinse with water if salt crystals form near electrode tip from electrolyte evaporation
- Check for air bubbles in glass bulb by shaking electrode vertically
- Keep glass membrane hydrated for fast response - use 3 mol/L KCl storage solution
- Ensure terminal connections remain dry - clean with anhydrous alcohol if contaminated
- Avoid prolonged immersion in distilled water, protein solutions, or contact with silicone grease
- For aged electrodes with cloudy membranes, soak in 10% HCl solution then rinse thoroughly
Product Lifespan & Calibration
Under normal conditions with proper maintenance, electrodes provide reliable performance for over 12 months. Shelf life for unused electrodes is 12-24 months when stored properly. Regular calibration using fresh pH/ORP standard buffer solutions ensures measurement accuracy.
