Product Overview
This high-temperature water analog ORP sensor operates on potentiometric analysis principles using a galvanic cell system that converts chemical reaction energy into electrical energy. The sensor features a platinum sensing membrane and PPS housing for exceptional durability in demanding environments.
ORP (Oxidation-Reduction Potential) serves as a critical water quality indicator, reflecting the collective redox behavior of all substances in solution. Higher ORP values indicate stronger oxidizing capacity, while lower values suggest reducing properties.
Installation Methods
- Sidewall Installation: Ensure interface tilt angle exceeds 15 degrees
- Top Flange Installation: Note flange dimensions and electrode insertion depth
- Pipe Installation: Consider pipe diameter, flow velocity, and pressure requirements
- Flow-Through Installation: Monitor flow velocity and pressure conditions
- Submersion Installation: Adjust bracket length as needed for application
Maintenance & Care Guidelines
- Before use, unscrew protective cap and immerse electrode bulb and liquid junction in sample
- Rinse with water if salt crystals form near electrode tip from electrolyte evaporation
- Check for air bubbles in glass bulb by shaking electrode vertically
- Keep glass membrane hydrated for fast response - add storage solution (3 mol/L KCl) after measurement
- Ensure terminal connections remain dry and clean with anhydrous alcohol if contaminated
- Avoid prolonged immersion in distilled water, protein solutions, or contact with silicone grease
- For aged electrodes with cloudy membranes, soak in 10% HCl solution then rinse thoroughly
- Regularly clean and calibrate electrode - replace if calibration fails after maintenance
Product Lifespan & Calibration
With proper maintenance, electrodes typically last over 12 months under normal conditions. Unused electrodes maintain a shelf life of 12-24 months when stored properly. Exposure to strong acids, bases, high temperatures, or corrosive liquids may shorten operational lifespan.
Calibration Procedure
- Use fresh pH/ORP standard buffer solutions of appropriate concentrations
- Remove protective cap and rinse electrode with distilled water
- Set instrument to calibration mode according to manufacturer instructions
- After calibration, proceed with actual sample measurements
Note: Electrodes are consumable components and generally not covered by warranty. Proper maintenance is essential for optimal performance and extended service life.
