Measurement Principle
The sensor operates based on the Nernst equation, functioning as a galvanic cell that converts chemical reaction energy into electrical energy. ORP (Oxidation-Reduction Potential) serves as a critical water quality indicator, reflecting the collective redox behavior of all substances in solution. Positive potential indicates oxidizing properties, while negative potential suggests reducing characteristics.
Installation Options
Before use, unscrew the electrode protective cap and install with appropriate mounting brackets or accessories.
Digital ORP Probe installation diagram showing sidewall, top flange, pipe, flow-through, and submersion mounting methods
  • Sidewall Installation: Ensure interface tilt angle exceeds 15 degrees
  • Top Flange Installation: Note flange dimensions and electrode insertion depth
  • Pipe Installation: Consider pipe diameter, flow velocity, and pressure
  • Flow-Through Installation: Monitor flow velocity and pressure parameters
  • Submersion Installation: Adjust bracket length as required
Maintenance & Care
  • Before use, immerse electrode bulb and liquid junction in sample solution
  • Rinse with water if salt crystals form near electrode tip
  • Keep glass membrane hydrated for optimal response time
  • Store with 3 mol/L KCl solution in protective cap
  • Clean aged electrodes with 10% HCl solution for deposits
  • Regular calibration with fresh pH/ORP standard buffer solutions
Product Lifespan
Under normal operating conditions with proper maintenance, electrodes typically last over 12 months. Unused electrodes have a shelf life of 12-24 months when stored correctly. Exposure to strong acids, bases, high temperatures, or corrosive liquids may reduce service life.
Applications
General chemical solutions, industrial water treatment, environmental wastewater monitoring, river and lake water quality assessment.
