Product Overview
The ion-selective electrode (ISE) is a membrane electrode featuring a sensitive membrane that generates membrane potential through ion exchange or diffusion processes. This chloride ion sensor consists of an ion-selective membrane, internal reference electrode (Ag/AgCl), and internal reference solution. It measures electrical potential of chloride ions in solution relative to a reference electrode, enabling precise quantitative analysis through potential difference measurement.
Key Features & Benefits
  • Reagent-free operation eliminates chemical consumption and environmental pollution
  • Redox potential measurement ensures rapid response times and signal stability
  • Polypropylene construction provides chemical resistance and durability
  • High-quality sensor cables enhance measurement accuracy and signal integrity
  • Cost-effective solution for continuous chloride ion monitoring
Operation & Calibration
Pre-Measurement Preparation
  • Remove protective cap from electrode tip (avoid touching sensitive area)
  • Shake electrode downward to eliminate internal air bubbles
  • Activate new or unused electrodes in 1 ppm standard solution for 24 hours
  • Rinse with deionized water and immerse in stirred deionized water for 5 minutes before testing
Calibration Procedure
  • Connect electrode to meter and set to mV mode
  • Use 100 mL deionized water in 150 mL beaker with stirring
  • Add 1 mL of 1000 ppm standard solution, record stable reading (E₁)
  • Add 10 mL of same standard solution, record stable reading (E₂)
  • Calculate slope at 25°C as E₂ - E₁ for performance validation
Maintenance & Storage
Troubleshooting
If slope deviation occurs, prepare fresh diluted standard solution and soak electrode for 10 minutes before recalibration. Contact technical support if issues persist.
Storage Guidelines
  • Short-term: Store in deionized water or low-concentration standard solution (1 ppm)
  • Long-term: Rinse, dry thoroughly, and store in original packaging
  • Reactivation required after long-term storage: soak in 1 mg/L standard solution for 2+ hours
Customization Available: Cable length (5m standard), connector types (Pin, BNC), and specific application requirements.
