The ion-selective electrode (ISE) is a precision membrane electrode that generates membrane potential through ion exchange or diffusion processes. Featuring an ion-selective membrane, internal reference electrode (Ag/AgCl), and internal reference solution, this sensor measures the electrical potential of fluoride ions in solution relative to a reference electrode. The potential difference correlates with ion activity, enabling accurate quantitative analysis of fluoride concentration.
- Reagent-free operation eliminates pollution and reduces operational costs
- Redox potential measurement ensures rapid response and signal stability
- Durable polypropylene construction for long service life
- High-quality sensor cables enhance measurement accuracy and reliability
- Remove protective cap from electrode tip (avoid touching sensitive area)
- Shake electrode downward to eliminate internal air bubbles
- Activate new or long-unused electrodes by soaking in 1 ppm standard solution for 24 hours
- Rinse with deionized water, blot dry, and immerse in deionized water for 5 minutes with stirring before testing
- Connect electrode to meter and set to mV mode
- Prepare 100 mL deionized water in 150 mL beaker with stirring
- Add 1 mL of 1000 ppm standard solution, record stable reading (E₁)
- Add 10 mL of same standard solution, record stable reading (E₂)
- Calculate slope at 25°C as E₂ - E₁ and compare with specifications
Short-term: Preserve in deionized water or low-concentration standard solution (1 ppm)
Long-term: Rinse, dry thoroughly, and store in original packaging. Reactivate in 1 mg/L standard solution for over 2 hours before reuse.
