Product Overview
This chloride ion-selective electrode (ISE) features a sensitive membrane that generates membrane potential through ion exchange or diffusion. The sensor consists of an ion-selective membrane, internal reference electrode (Ag/AgCl), and internal reference solution. It measures electrical potential relative to a reference electrode, with the potential difference dependent on chloride ion activity in solution, enabling precise quantitative analysis.
Key Features
  • Reagent-free operation eliminates pollution and reduces costs
  • Redox potential measurement ensures fast response and stable signals
  • Durable polypropylene construction for long service life
  • High-quality sensor cables enhance signal accuracy and stability
Pre-Measurement Preparation
  1. Remove protective cap from electrode tip (avoid touching sensitive area)
  2. Shake electrode downward to remove internal air bubbles
  3. Activate new or long-unused electrodes by soaking in 1 ppm standard solution for at least 24 hours
  4. After activation, rinse with deionized water and blot dry
  5. Before testing, immerse electrode tip in deionized water for 5 minutes with stirring
Calibration Procedure
  1. Connect electrode to meter and set to mV mode
  2. Pour 100 mL deionized water into 150 mL beaker and stir thoroughly
  3. Blot electrode dry and immerse in prepared deionized water
  4. Add 1 mL of 1000 ppm standard solution, stir, and record stable reading (E₁)
  5. Add 10 mL of same standard solution, stir, and record stable reading (E₂)
  6. Calculate slope at 25°C as E₂ - E₁ and compare with specifications
Storage Guidelines
Short-term Storage
Preserve electrode in deionized water or low-concentration standard solution (1 ppm). No reactivation required before reuse.
Long-term Storage
Rinse with deionized water, gently wipe membrane with non-woven cloth, dry thoroughly, and store in original packaging. Reactivate in 1 mg/L standard solution, deionized water, or low-concentration solution for over 2 hours before reuse.
