Product Description
Digital Potassium Ion Sensor Overview
This electrochemical sensor utilizes membrane potential technology to accurately measure potassium ion activity and concentration in hydroponic solutions. When the sensing membrane contacts target ions, it generates a measurable potential directly proportional to ion activity, enabling precise potentiometric analysis.
Key Features
  • Digital RS-485 output with MODBUS protocol support
  • Reagent-free operation eliminates pollution and reduces costs
  • Ion-selective method ensures rapid response and stable signal output
  • PP electrode housing withstands temperatures from 0°C to 50°C
  • High-quality four-core shielded cable for accurate signal transmission

Pre-Measurement Preparation
1. Remove the protective cap from the electrode tip
Avoid touching the sensitive membrane area with fingers
2. Shake electrode downward to remove internal air bubbles
3. For new or long-unused electrodes: activate by soaking in 1 ppm standard solution for at least 24 hours
4. After activation: rinse with deionized water, blot dry, then immerse in deionized water for 5 minutes with stirring
Calibration Procedure
1. Connect electrode to meter and set to mV mode
2. Pour 100 mL deionized water into 150 mL beaker and stir thoroughly
3. Blot electrode dry and immerse in deionized water
4. Add 1 mL of 1000 ppm standard solution, stir, record stable reading (E₁)
5. Add 10 mL of same standard solution, stir, record stable reading (E₂)
6. Calculate slope at 25°C as E₂ - E₁ and compare with specifications
Troubleshooting
If slope deviates from specified range:
  • Prepare freshly diluted standard solution (lowest concentration)
  • Soak electrode in diluted solution for 10 minutes before testing
Repeat calibration steps. If issue persists, contact technical support or replace electrode.
Storage Guidelines
Short-term Storage
Preserve electrode in deionized water or low-concentration standard solution (1 ppm). No reactivation required before reuse.
Long-term Storage
Rinse with deionized water, gently wipe membrane with non-woven cloth, dry thoroughly, and store in original packaging. Reactivate in 1 mg/L standard solution, deionized water, or low-concentration solution for over 2 hours before reuse.
