Pre-Measurement Preparation
  • Remove protective cap from electrode tip (avoid touching sensitive area)
  • Shake electrode downward to eliminate internal air bubbles
  • Activate new or long-unused electrodes in 1 ppm standard solution for 24 hours
  • Rinse with deionized water and blot dry with non-woven cloth
  • Immerse electrode tip in deionized water for 5 minutes with stirring before testing
Calibration Procedure
  • Connect electrode to meter and pour 100 mL deionized water into 150 mL beaker
  • Set meter to mV mode and immerse dried electrode in deionized water
  • Add 1 mL of 1000 ppm standard solution, stir, and record stable reading (E₁)
  • Add 10 mL of same standard solution, stir, and record stable reading (E₂)
  • Calculate slope at 25°C as E₂ - E₁ and compare with specifications
Storage Guidelines
Short-term Storage
Preserve electrode in deionized water or low-concentration standard solution (1 ppm). No reactivation required before reuse.
Long-term Storage
Rinse with deionized water, gently wipe membrane with non-woven cloth, dry thoroughly, and store in original packaging. Reactivate in 1 mg/L standard solution, deionized water, or low-concentration solution for over 2 hours before reuse.
