Membrane-Based Digital RS485 Dissolved Oxygen Sensor
Measurement Principle
The AG4733D dissolved oxygen electrode utilizes platinum (Pt) as the cathode and Ag/AgCl as the anode, with 0.1M potassium chloride (KCl) electrolyte and a silicone rubber permeable membrane as the oxygen diffusion layer. During operation, a 0.68V polarization voltage is applied between electrodes. Oxygen permeates through the membrane and is consumed at the cathode, generating a limiting diffusion current proportional to dissolved oxygen concentration. A built-in thermistor provides temperature compensation for accurate readings.
Electrode Reactions
Cathode (Pt): O₂ + 2H₂O + 4e⁻ → 4OH⁻
Anode (Ag): 4Ag + 4Cl⁻ → 4AgCl + 4e⁻
