Product Overview
Ammonia nitrogen in water primarily originates from microbial decomposition of nitrogenous organic matter in domestic wastewater, industrial effluents from coking and synthetic ammonia production, and agricultural drainage. Elevated levels pose toxic effects on aquatic life and potential harm to humans. Monitoring ammonia nitrogen concentrations is essential for assessing water pollution levels and self-purification status.
Designed for long-term unattended automatic continuous operation with field-configurable settings. Widely applicable to industrial wastewater discharge, municipal sewage treatment plant effluent, and environmental surface water monitoring.
Measurement Principle
The analyzer employs the salicylate colorimetric method. After mixing the water sample with a masking agent, ammonia nitrogen reacts with salicylate ions and hypochlorite ions under alkaline conditions, forming a colored complex. The amount of colored complex formed corresponds directly to the ammonia nitrogen concentration.
