The CODMn Permanganate Index Online Water Quality Analyzer provides continuous, unattended monitoring of water quality by measuring oxygen consumption from organic and inorganic reducing substances in water samples.
This analyzer employs potassium permanganate oxidation spectrophotometry. Water samples are heated in a water bath for 20 minutes, during which potassium permanganate oxidizes organic pollutants. The amount of potassium permanganate consumed indicates the level of contamination.
