Volatile Phenol Online Water Quality Analyzer with 0.001mg/L Resolution and 10mg/L Measurement Range
Volatile phenols are monohydric phenolic compounds with boiling points below 23°C that can co-distill with water vapor. These compounds primarily originate from industrial processes including petroleum refining, gas scrubbing, coking operations, paper manufacturing, synthetic ammonia production, wood preservation, and chemical manufacturing facilities.
Phenols represent significant environmental hazards as protoplasmic toxicants. Low concentrations can denature proteins, while higher concentrations precipitate proteins, causing cellular damage and severe corrosion to skin and mucous membranes. Long-term exposure to phenol-contaminated water may result in dizziness, skin rashes, itching, anemia, nausea, vomiting, and neurological disorders. Research indicates phenolic compounds may also exhibit cancer-promoting effects in humans and mammals.
