Scope of Application

This instrument is applicable to the test method for determining the effective aperture of geotextiles and composite geotextiles and other geosynthetic materials using the dry sieving method. Its performance complies with national standards.

Instrument Characteristics

4. The dry sieving time and time measurement unit can be freely selected. Test:

Place a group of five samples and the standard particles in a standard atmospheric pressure environment for desiccation and equilibrium. Take one of the samples, place it flat and without wrinkles onto the support screen of the instrument, and evenly sprinkle 50g of standard particles from the standard particles onto the surface of the geotextile. Clamp the sieve frame, the sample, and the receiving tray together on the instrument, set the operation time, and start the instrument. After the instrument finishes running, weigh the mass of the standard particles that pass through the sample and enter the receiving tray, and calculate the sieve rate. Replace a new sample, repeat the above steps, until at least three sets of data are obtained and one of the sieve rates reaches or is lower than 5%.
